Whatever your budget, a beautiful wedding can be yours in the U.S. Virgin Islands even for as little as $500.
Many hotels and services in the islands provide wedding packages with a price that covers all the legal and organizational details and might include such items as a wedding cake, limousine service, photography and a video.  Today's wedding ceremonies are no longer just the ties that bind. The modern wedding ceremony can be anything from a traditional religious ceremony to personalized services where you write the vows to a simple civil service. And with the wide variety of services available, you can have your wedding any way you choose, from an understated, intimate ceremony under bougainvillea flowering vines to a larger wedding with a helicopter to fly you off to another island.

It is a good idea to start your wedding planning at least two months in advance and even longer if you plan to have a large crowd. To make your dream wedding a reality, request an application for a marriage license from the Territorial Court of the U.S. Virgin Islands.

If you are planning to get married on St. Thomas or St. John, mail your inquiry to the Administrator / Clerk of the Territorial Court of the Virgin Islands, P.O. Box 70, St. Thomas, USVI, 00804 - or call (340)744-6680.

To get married on St. Croix, write directly to the Territorial Court of the Virgin Islands, Family Division, P.O. Box 929, Christiansted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I., 00821 - or call (340) 778-9750 and request a marriage license application form.

After the completed and notarized application is received via mail in the island courts, there is a required eight-day waiting period.    No blood test is required. But if either party is divorced, a certified true copy of the divorce decree stamped with a seal and generated by the court office in which the divorce took place must be filed with the license application.  Additionally, please indicate whether the marriage will be performed by a Judge in the Court or by a clergy member.  An appointment needs to be arranged for weddings performed by the Court.

Court marriage appointments can be made on St. Thomas, Monday through Friday, and on St. Croix, Monday through Thursday, excluding USVI holidays.

The marriage application fee is $25 (U.S. dollars) and the marriage license fee is $25. If you are being married in the Court by a Judge, there is a fee of $200 for the ceremony. Personal checks are not accepted.
